  1. Can I still get a loan if I have been turned down for credit previously or have a County Court Judgement?
    • We could lend where others won’t, our personal service means we treat everyone as an individual so we’ll base your loan on your circumstances, not just your credit history. We could lend to you even if:

      • You have CCJs or poor credit history
      • You’ve been turned down before
      • You are renting or are unemployed
      • You don’t have a bank account

The best way to find out if you can get a loan is to fill in the application form

  2. How much can I borrow?
    • You could borrow between £100 and £500, depending upon your personal circumstances and the weekly loan repayment you’re comfortable with.

When you take a cash loan from us, you know upfront exactly how much you will have to pay each week. That means you can borrow money knowing there will never be any unexpected extras.

Use our Loan Calculator now to see how much you could borrow and remember you don’t have to borrow cash, there’s our Love2shop Vouchers too.

  3. Can I get an instant cash loan?
    • Although instant cash loans are extremely convenient if you need money fast, we often find that people who apply for instant loans feel like they haven’t had enough time to think their loan through before it is issued to them. Also, due to the speed of the service, people with instant loans can sometimes be unclear on aspects of their loan like whether there are any roll-over charges or if they will incur extra charges if they miss any payments.

Here at Provident we don’t offer instant cash loans. We want our customers to be sure they are taking out a loan that is right for them so, although we give a decision in principle within minutes, our loans are not issued until a couple of days after.

With a Provident loan, you receive a decision in principle minutes after you apply. If you are approved, a friendly Agent will be in touch within a couple of days to arrange a time to come to your home and discuss your application with you. Your Agent will take you through the features of your loan including the affordability of your repayments and all of the terms and conditions. Even at this point, there is no obligation so you are able to change your mind without fuss.

If you decide to go ahead with your loan, your Agent will arrange a time to deliver your loan to you. Then, once a week every week, they will come to your home to collect your weekly repayments and to answer any questions you may have.

Here at Provident we offer cash loans from £100 - £500 over terms ranging from 14 to 52 weeks. We assess your eligibility for a loan based on your current circumstances and not your payment history. This means that you could still be accepted for a loan even if you have CCJ’s or you’ve missed payments in the past.

  4. What is a short-term loan?
    • You can choose to take your short-term loan over 23, 31 or 52 weeks.

We’re here to help as little or as much as you need. Just choose the amount you’d like to take and how long you’d like to take to pay it back.

You can apply for a loan now and get a decision in principle online.

  5. When will I get my money?
    • The first step is to apply for your loan online and we’ll give you an immediate decision in principle. If successful, an agent will visit you at home at a time to suit you to chat through your loan. You should be contacted within 3 working days of your initial application so we can arrange this visit. Once your loan has been approved your agent will call back to your home to drop off your cash – it’s that simple! If you’ve already applied and need to speak to someone please give us a call on 0800 409 6654.

  6. Is my loan confidential?
    • Yes it is.

We’ll only discuss details of your loan with you and not with other family members or friends as we’re bound by the Data Protection Act.

  7. What is the APR for my loan?
    • The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) on your loan will depend on how much you want to borrow and how many weeks you choose to repay it over.

Once these have been agreed with your agent, they will be able to tell you what the APR for your loan is.

If you want to find out more about APRs, visit our APR explained page.
