Statements

  1. Why have I received a statement?
    • Provident is regulated by the Office of Fair Trading and the terms of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 which require us to send out statements to our customers annually. The aim of your statement is to help you keep track of your loan payments with us, much in the same way as your payment book.

  2. What will my statement tell me?
    • Your Provident statement shows all the payment activity on your loans from the past year and provides you with a record, very similar to your payment book. You should check your statement against your payment book to make sure everything is as you would expect and keep it safe.

  3. How often will I receive a statement?
    • You will receive a statement in the post once a year if you have a loan lasting 52 weeks or more. It will show a record of payments on your loan(s) over the previous 12 months. If you’ve started any new loans in the last year, these will be shown too but only for the time they’ve been running. If you need an extra statement in between you can give your local office a call (the number will be on your repayment book) or contact head office on 0800 409 6654 to request one and we’ll put an up to date copy in the post for you.

  4. Is there any charge for a statement?
    • No, there is no charge - we are required to supply your statement for free.

  5. Can I order a statement?
    • Of course you can – just give your local office a call (the number will be on your repayment book) or contact head office on 0800 409 6654 and we’ll get you an up-to-date copy in the post. This should be with you within 7 working days of your call.

  6. What happens if I want to settle my account early?
    • Just get in touch with your agent to chat through your options. They’ll explain what happens if you pay your loan off early and whether we owe you any money.
  7. Can I view my statement online?
    • Not at the moment, although you can request a statement at anytime should you need one. Just give your local office a call (the number will be on your repayment book) or contact head office on 0800 409 6654 to request one.
