About the Provident 24/7 Prepaid MasterCard®

  1. Who are Wirecard?
    • The Provident 24/7 Card is issued by Wirecard Card Solutions Ltd pursuant to licence by MasterCard International Incorporated. Wirecard is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 for the issuing of Electronic Money (Financial services register number: 900051).
  2. What is the Provident 24/7 Prepaid MasterCard®?
    • The Provident 24/7 Card is a prepaid card which can be loaded using a personal loan from Provident Personal Credit Limited. Using the card you can spend in the high street, online, over the phone and take cash out of ATMs (cash machines). It includes a Retailer Rewards scheme which means that you will receive cashback as a reward for spending in participating retail outlets (subject to change).

      The Provident 24/7 Card needs to be pre-loaded with money before it can be used. Once loaded, using a prepaid card is similar to using a credit or debit card. It is personalised to you and has card features such as a card number, chip & PIN and security code. It can be used at any retailer where you see the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark. Unlike a credit card – which provides you with a source of credit, and a debit card – which is linked to a bank account, it encourages you to only spend what you load on the card, helping you to stay in complete control.

  3. Who can have a Provident 24/7 Card?
    • The Provident 24/7 Card is available to Provident’s eligible current customers. It is initially available in certain areas of the country but will be rolled out nationally in 2014. To find out if the Provident 24/7 Card is available in your area and if you may be eligible please speak to your Agent.
  4. Who are Tuxedo?
    • The Provident 24/7 website is operated by Tuxedo Money Plus Limited on behalf of Provident Personal Credit Limited. Tuxedo Money Plus Limited is an approved MasterCard® member service provider in the UK.
  5. When will I receive my Provident 24/7 Card?
    • You should receive your Provident 24/7 Card through the post within 10 working days of ordering. If you haven’t received it after 10 working days please contact 03303 030 247*.

      *Calls to this number are charged at local rate and are free from a mobile if you have an inclusive minutes package.

  6. How do I access my online account?
    • To access your Provident 24/7 online account you’ll need to have registered on the website. If you’re already registered you’ll need to sign in using your 9 digit eccount number, password and date of birth. Visit the Provident 24/7 website.

  7. How do I know that my personal details are protected from misuse?

  8. How long will my Provident 24/7 Card last for?
    • Your Provident 24/7 Card will expire after two years when you will need to request a replacement, dependent on whether the scheme is continued and subject to status. The card expiry date can be seen on the front of your Provident 24/7 Card.

      Your Provident 24/7 Card is personalised to you and you should not throw it away or return it to your Agent, even after you have spent your loan as you may wish to reload it again in the future. You may also be charged a fee to receive a replacement card. It can be topped up each time you take out a new Provident loan through your online account.
