If you’re accepted in principle, your local Provident Rep will call you. They’ll need to do an affordability assessment as part of the application process. This is to make sure that you can afford the weekly payments. This could be done over the phone or in your home. They’ll need to see proof of your ID, address and income. They might also ask for a video of yourself asking for a loan from us if they can’t visit you. They’ll only visit you if it is safe to do so.
You can view the full list of accepted proof of ID, address and income here.
You can pay your Rep either over the phone or they could visit you. You can also pay:
Straight from your bank account, subject to eligibility
On our automated payment line
On our website
We make the effort to understand your personal circumstances,
not just your credit score.
Provident loans are different from other loans because we normally visit you in your home. It's important that we see or speak to you so that we can both be sure that a loan is right for you and that you can afford the weekly repayments.

We put customers at the heart of everything we do. If you are approved for a loan with us, you could get the money delivered right to your door or bank account. A member of our team will contact you to discuss your loan requirements, explain your loan agreement and repayment options to you. This could be done over the phone or in person. They'll answer any questions you may have about your loan.
We only lend to customers when we believe they can afford to repay. There are no extra charges so you’ll always know the full cost of your loan upfront.
