Provident Direct

Provident Direct is a new option for repaying new Provident loans. With Provident Direct you can choose to repay your loan automatically using your debit card via Continuous Payment Authority (CPA), rather than having your rep come round each week to collect the money.

A CPA gives us permission to collect loan repayments directly from your debit card. We’ll only request payments that we have agreed with you.

Your rep will visit you twice initially. The first visit will be to set up your loan and the second will be to collect your first repayment in cash and set up a CPA. After that they won’t have to come round to collect any other repayments, further payments will be taken via your card.

Once the CPA is set up, you just need to make sure there’s enough money in your account on the day your repayment is due. We’ll only ever take the amount we have agreed, and we’ll only try to take the payment once each week on the day we agree with you upfront.

If we’re not successfully able to take the repayment, we’ll let you know and arrange a time to visit you at home to discuss. If for any reason we can’t contact you, your payments will continue as agreed for a further week on your preferred date.

This also means that if any of your payments remain outstanding your account will be in arrears. Your payments may be changed to home collection if your CPA fails twice in a row.

You will need:

  • A valid debit card which is registered in your full name and address
  • An email address and the ability to open email attachments
  • A mobile phone number
  • To agree that the first repayment will be home collected
  • To agree that collections may be changed to home collection if your CPA fails twice and/or this is deemed to be in your best interests
  • To agree that service visits will be held every so often
  • To agree that all visits and discussions relating to CPA will be subject to Voice Recording

If you have both a Provident weekly home cash collection loan and a new Provident Direct agreement then your rep will still visit to collect your home cash loan.

For Provident Direct, your rep will still visit you, just not as often as they would with a Provident weekly home cash collection loan. The rep will set up your loan and call to collect your first repayment in cash. After that they’ll arrange to visit you every so often just to check in and make sure everything is okay.

If you take out a Provident Direct loan and realise you’d rather repay in cash each week, that’s totally fine. You can switch to weekly home collection at any time. To change, get in touch with your rep, or give us a ring on 0800 096 6064.

All Provident loans are subject to affordability, whether weekly home collected by a member of our team or via CPA. Provident Direct loans are also subject to eligibility.

Currently, Provident Direct loans are only available to in few areas in the UK. If your area is taking part, the website will show you this option after you have entered your postcode during the application process. Alternatively, you can get in touch with your rep to see if it’s available to you.

If you have any more questions, you can contact your rep. Or if you’d prefer, you can give us a ring on 0800 096 6064.
